Last week a great man left our midst. I know most of you heard about the tragic incident that took Dr. Myles Munroe's life alongside his wife. May their souls rest in peace. I felt so sad, not for him, but for the people that will feel the void of his demise. One thing is vivid, he lived a fulfilled life. He may not have achieved all that he wanted. Who knows? Perhaps, there were still desires waiting to be achieved; but he sure left a lasting footprint here on earth. I would be more than happy if I left such legacy whenever I left this world.
The very first time I knew him was when he was invited to speak at a convention I attended. He spoke on 'purpose', his favorite.
Through him, I understood how important it is to not just exist (which is what most people do) but to aim to live a purposeful life.
And that should be a concern for every one of us.
Dr. Munroe in one of his popular quotes said "the graveyard is the richest place of all". And the reason like he explained was because it is filled with so many potentials that remained potentials; so many books that would have changed lives that remained unpublished, so many business ideas that were never established, so many songs that were never heard, so many words that were never spoken... Things that would have left lasting impacts for generations and generations to come that never saw the light of the day. The thought of it alone gets me utterly mortified.
What will you be remembered for?
The world needs what you have to offer. There is no point thinking about those big dreams if you are going to sleep on them. One day you will leave this world and I am sure it will be saddening to know that there is so much you had to give but you gave nothing. People are usually captured in the walls they have built for themselves. Most of the times, people are more focused on the "what if it doesn't work out" than the "what if it does". If it doesn't work the way you anticipated, you will get other results. If all you have is the experience of trying, then it's definitely better than nothing.
Don't get carried away by the limitations you have reinforced for yourself. You cannot be sure until you try. The world needs to hear your story.
Don't sleep with it.
Have a great week ahead
